The Dracaena Marginata is a member of the ancient dragon tree family of plants and is found growing wild in Mauritius. We love these plants particularly the elegant long leaves leaves.
It’s a fairly slow growing plant, eventually reaching about 3 to 4 metres tall, in nature or large enough pot.
They need moderate to bright indirect sunlight. Brown spots on the leaves usually indicate the plant is getting too much light. If the plant doesn’t get enough light the leaves turn pale.
A sure way to kill a Dracaena Marginata is to over-water it. Water the plant only when the top 1 inch of soil is dry and then water it thoroughly with room-temperature water.
In the winter months, it’s important to keep the plant warm as a sudden drop in temperature can cause the lower leaves to drop off.
